According to the old nursery rhyme, there was an old lady who lived in a shoe with so many children she did not know what to do.
Somewhere in South Dakota, there was a lady who lived in her car, with so many cats she quite lost her mind. Besides herself, the car was (I quote the court) “crammed full of boxes, coolers, blankets, clothes, two liter bottles full of water, books, cooking utensils, a large bag of cat food and a large and dirty litter box.” Unable to see through the window, the cat lady nearly ran into a police cruiser.
(The rest of the story is more touching, in an odd way, than funny. The cat lady fought for her animals tooth and nail – no pun intended. She represented herself all the way up to the South Dakota Supreme Court. She lost in the end, but not without two justices dissenting, who would have returned her beloved felines to her.)
